 "Afternoon in Dubrovnik" is painting of the  Saint John Fortress, city walls  and "Porporela" pier in the old city harbor of Dubrovnik,  which is one of the most popular places  filled with magnetic energy coming from  sea. It is usually regarded as the most picturesque city on the Dalmatian coast.  I was born and raised in Dubrovnik, and as "child" I fell in love early on with Dubrovnik's architectural masterpieces and hope you "will" too. 

 This painting is focused on Saint John's Fortress while sun  is resting on old fortress stones.  

A brilliant reflection creates stunning images in  the water of the ancient harbor. Dubrovnik is full of romantic and mystical buildings .  Can't wait to paint  some more!

 This is painting of Dubrovnik old harbor, and part of the  city walls. The painting is focused on part of the harbor called "Porporela" with red lantern.  Porporela is pier,  surely one of the most attractive sea breaks in the world.  This complex structure, amongst the largest and most complete in Europe protected the freedom and safety of the "civilized" and "sophisticated" Republic of Ragusa that flourished in peace and prosperity for some five centuries.(from 1358 to 1808). However, walls protected the city of Dubrovnik, before and after that particular time period.
